Wine and Gourmet Club
The Fort Lewis OSC/ESC Food and Wine Club will be heading down to Classic Winemakers in Lacey on Friday, January 8th, to participate in a night of wine tasting and wine making. The event will start at 6:30pm and go until we decide to leave.
I will be asking everyone to bring a small appetizer/desert so that we can have some food in our stomachs.
The cost of the evening is going to depend on how many people there are. To make one batch of wine, which yields 30 bottles, the cost is $239. We're looking at a cost of $10-$15 per person and everyone gets one bottle of wine. I was thinking that after everyone gets one bottle of wine if there are any left over we can either allow people to buy another bottle or we can donate the remainder to the Mock Dining-In in February as an opportunity for people to buy. We are scheduled to return to Classic Winemakers on Friday, February 12th to bottle our wine. Once again, everyone will be asked to bring an appetizer to munch on as we bottle the wine. There will be no cost for this event.
