As busy military spouses we often have to wear many hats. Kathy Turner serves the Army as both an active duty Officer, a supportive spouse, and a loving parent. Kathy joined the Army after completing the ROTC program at Western New England College. She met her husband, Frank, at the Officer Basic Course where she was preparing for a career as a Military Police Officer. She and Frank have two daughters, Grace-8 and Abby-almost 5. Before coming to Fort Lewis Kathy has been stationed at Fort Drum (NY), Panama, Schofield Barracks (HI), Fort Meade (MD), and Leaven-worth (KS). She currently works as the Public Affairs Officer for I Corps preparing for the upcoming deployment. At each of her duty stations Kathy has been involved in FRG’s, Spouse groups, and her children’s activities. While in Hawaii she not only served in Company Command, but was the FRG Leader for her husband’s Company at the same time. She has been an active volunteer in the Spouses’ Clubs at all of her duty stations. She also volunteered as a Brownie Troop leader for her daughter during her time at Ft Leavenworth. Kathy’s energy, experience,
and talent have been valued assets to all of those who have benefited from her volunteer work. In her “spare” time Kathy enjoys antiquing, crafting, gardening, and cooking. She also likes to run, and besides thebirth of her two daughters lists completing the Marine Corps Marathon as her biggest accomplishment….so far
